Factors affecting stillbirth: prospective study

Background: Stillbirth is defined by WHO as the birth of a baby with weight 500 gm or more, 22 more completed weeks gestation body length 25 cm who died before during labour and birth.Methods: This was prospective observational study factors affecting stillbirth conducted in tertiary hospital for period 1 year from 1st June 2014 to 31st May 2015. During period, 200 parturient gestational age 28 fetal 1000 without medical disorders were included.Results: The total number births 11,951. rate present 16.73 per births. Most stillbirths seen antepartum (76%) when compared intrapartum (24%). Maximum occurred 36 above (52%) between 2001-2500 (27.50%). Patients inadequate antenatal care, less than three visits had 86% stillbirths.Conclusions: Proper prompt referral services availability emergency obstetric care will provide pivotal role reduction stillbirths.
